ELLYS MANOR HOUSE
Ellys Manor Mansion is an architectural wonder, a one-of-a-kind and enchanting Tudor wool merchant's house built in the Flemish style. The house's major attraction is a fantastic scheme of early 16th century wall paintings in the top rooms.
It is a survivor's wonder, having changed little over the years and keeping many of its original qualities. With its dense stone walls and deep-set mullioned windows with shallow Tudor arches to keep the rain out, the house is robust and powerful. The ceilings are high throughout, with massive wood beams that retain a strong tincture of black and red ochre. The house radiates a sense of grandeur!
GRIMSTHORPE CASTLE PARK AND GARDENS
Grimsthorpe is well-known for its beautiful and diverse walking and cycling trails. Take a short yet enjoyable walk through the Woodland Walk, wander around the beautiful gardens, or bring your bike and cycle to the lake and beyond.
